The Caledonian Practice Development model shaping the Demonstration Project recognizes the close relationship between scholarship and practice. Rather than separating these strands the model bonds them together by pooling the expertise of practitioners, older people, researchers and educators. It is a partnership model rooted in the reality and challenges of improving care through implementation of achievable evidence based care guidance known as best practice statements.
