This work is an extension of the Demonstration Project and aims to involve older people and family carers in the work of the Practice Development College. An important aspect of this work is to craft a range of resources based on the nursing Best Practice Statements to enable older people and their families and friends to recognise when the care they experience is at its best.
A spin off benefit for participants is that they will learn new skills and become participant in the opportunities offered through access to the internet and email. Most of the older individuals who are taking part have multiple disabilities, and over half are dependent on other people. Approximately 80% have never used a computer before.
This project is funded by EQUAL and NHS Quality Improvement Scotland.
