Gerontological Nursing: A way forward!!

Working with Dependent Older People toward Promoting Movement and Physical Activity.

Funded by: NHS Health Scotland

The benefits of physical activity in promoting and maintaining good health for the general population are well known. More recently however, it has been demonstrated that older people with disabilities and frailty can benefit from regular programmed exercise or physical activity that promotes movement. Health benefits to be gained from regular physical activity include falls prevention, improved function, improved mental health and increased participation.
